STRENGTH. SKILL. CONNECTION.

We are Marna Construction. An Aboriginal-owned structural steel and construction company founded on Gunaikurnai Country, based in Melbourne, delivering projects across Victoria and nationally.

The Marna Mark.

Marna Construction is an Aboriginal-owned structural steel and construction company based in Melbourne, founded on Gunaikurnai Country in Sale, Victoria.

Built on the values of Strength, Skill & Connection, we deliver structural steel and building solutions across residential, commercial, industrial and community-focused projects. Our capability spans structural steel supply and installation, commercial and industrial steel works and broader construction support services.

The name Marna comes from Aboriginal language roots reflecting the ideas of working together, building strong foundations and maintaining connection to land. These principles shape how we operate, how we lead and how we represent ourselves in the industry.

  • We combine cultural integrity with modern construction capability. Our leadership team brings extensive experience in construction delivery, project management and design coordination. Supported by a network of qualified tradespeople and subcontractors, Marna Construction scales to meet project demands while maintaining quality, accountability and control.

We build structures that perform. We build relationships that last. And we carry culture into every project we undertake.

Culture informs how Marna Construction operates. It influences our leadership, our accountability and the standards we hold ourselves to. We recognise that construction interacts with land that carries cultural significance. That awareness shapes how we show up on site and how we engage with the people around us.

What We Do.

  • Marna Construction utilises industry-leading, state-of-the-art Tekla Structural 3D modelling to deliver accurate drafting and shop detailing across projects.

By drafting projects prior to fabrication, we identify clashes early, resolve detailing issues and ensure alignment with engineering specifications. This structured approach reduces rework and protects structural integrity from the outset.

Front-end coordination gives our clients confidence that materials are fabricated correctly, installation runs smoother on site and program risks are minimised.

  • In collaboration with R & M Engineering, Marna Construction operates a modern, fully equipped workshop capable of delivering complete welding and fabrication packages across projects of all sizes.

Our team consists of qualified and certified tradespeople who work to approved procedures and project specifications. We focus on accuracy, efficiency and controlled quality from fabrication through to dispatch.

    Workshop capabilities include:

    • Hot dip galvanizing

    • Industrial coating and painting systems

    • Custom fabrication for small and large-scale projects

We maintain structured quality controls within the workshop environment to ensure every component meets design requirements and is prepared for efficient installation on site.

  • Marna Construction provides experienced and qualified crews for structural steel erection across a range of project types. Our teams are trained, licensed, and capable of operating safely within active construction environments.

We scale our workforce to suit project size and complexity, ensuring the right level of supervision and capability is applied to each job.

    Our erection services include:

    • Qualified riggers and dogmen

    • Experienced boilermakers

    • Cranage coordination

    • Access equipment management

    • Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS)

    • Site quality control

    • Job planning and sequencing

    • Program coordination

  • Welding integrity is critical to structural performance. At Marna Construction, all welding activities are completed under approved procedures and form a core part of our quality management system.

We implement documented weld procedures, inspection hold points, and testing regimes aligned with Australian Standards and project specifications. Testing and certification can be tailored to suit job-specific requirements, ensuring compliance and traceability across every stage of fabrication and installation.
